Fifteen years ago, tomorrow, our family welcomed to the World, Megan Elisabeth Goforth. I remember thinking to myself... "Oh man, another one?" As years would pass, ole Meggie would grow on us... kind of like that little puppy that tears up all your stuff, but is just so cute, it's hard to get mad.
Personally, it gives me great joy to see and hear that analytical mind work something out. I love how she is always willing to fearlessly try something new. I love the young woman she has become.
Laurel Thatcher Ulrich said something like, "Well-behaved women seldom make history." Though this quote is often attributed to others, I think this sentiment applies to my favorite, youngest niece, with a slight modification... Fearful women seldom make history. I'm not sure what Megan's life verse is, but Psalm 27:1 says, "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" I think this quote sums her up pretty well. Megan, please, please, please NEVER lose that fearlessness. It becomes more difficult, as you get older and encounter more of life's challenges.
Happy birthday, Sweetie! We love you! -Your favorite uncle.
